  New and SAD...

  hello all...i've been searching for some sort of comfort in my situation.

  i found a story written by "iamfreenow" aka marion.

  i found some comfort to know that i am not alone in my challenging of my faith.

  Welcome to the Forum.

  Sorry for what you are going through. There is nothng we can do to change peoples minds about us if their minds are controlled by the men of Bethel.

  You will rise above it all and find a new life free of that control. The moment you knew that God had forgiven you but they hadn't was the Light of God's true unconditional love. He loved us first, just the way we are.

  Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

  God did not wait until we were righteous enough to love us. Jesus died to pay the price for all our sins so that we are forgiven the moment we are sorry for them. He then gives us the strength to overcome them. Hang in there, it gets better. Reach out in love to those you love if you feel moved to, and if they reject you don't take it personal, their minds are not their own.

  What a Birthday thus far, found my molestors mother today

  what a day.

  today is my birthday.

  my adopted senior told me they were best friends.

  Awe I am sure you did make her day. There is a lady 103 years old in my adopted Seniors room. It is really hard to face. Today I'm going to try to connect with her. She can't talk. Met a really cool lady 90 at another facility yesterday. She is a hoot! She is African American and was telling me stories told to her about slavery and her family's land. I am thinking I should tape record some of the stories. I do have a very cheap one, may have to invest in a higher quality.

  I had an interesting conversation with a social worker yesterday, not the one from the facility where the JW is. She said that if there were complaints against me for being apostate that there was nothing anyone could do. She said they could not keep me from visiting anyone I wanted to at anytime.

  It also opened the door to tell her some truths about JWs. She was surprised at some of the things I said but believed me because of what she see's happening over and over.

  She told me that the JW's leave all thier belongings, money, estates to the WT when they die. I told her that according to today's psychological standards of what a cult is, they are definatly a cult. So this is good actually, an allie that understands. She also said that since I was a relative of the dub I can tell whatever I want to the family. I also told her that with all the money the WT gets from estates the only money they spend on followers is millions in legal fee's fighting for the right to allow babies and children to die for lack of blood. She thought they had charities like nursing homes. I said I know that they do have some but I can assure you they are for profit and would never take someone with no income.

  I'm going to the one today where the JW is. I have 3 facilities now. Yesterday I played balloon ping pong with them, made room visits, and made plans on taking my ancient aussie dog in for visits. I have to buy him a red wagon since he is too old to walk that far. I think they will love him. It will make Speedy dog feel like he still has a job even though he is too tired to run the ranch anymore.

  How far would they go?

  a while ago my mother said that if the society asked the jws to do something that was wrong they wouldn't do it.

  it is already easy for them to go against their own consciences, many don't feel it is right to shun others but they do it because they are told to.

  most would feel dreadful with letting their children die but would do it if blood was needed because the society tells them to.

  There will be a core of faithful JWs who are capable of murder, suicide is murder. They murder their own children now physically by witholding life saving blood, and murder them spiritualy by destroying their minds.

  My Music is Up Again

  i know this part of jw.com is about 'friends" and i also know that i don't have any, or very few of them.

  the friends i do have are awesome, and the friends i don't have don't know what they are missing!.

  that being said, several human beings have asked me to provide them access to some of the music i have recorded in the last few years.. since i happen to be working on a website that i can get access to, i uploaded some of my stuff there.

  My husband a keyboardists, stopped his puter game to listen to Bumble Boogie...simply magnificent!

  Linus and Lucy is such a joy! I listened twice and want more but can't wait to hear them all!

  Is Faith Dangerous? A Question for Believers...

  i hope this will be as respectful a debate as possible.

  here is the premise: many of us (most) seem to be ex jw's on this board.

  that means, whatever your motivation, for a time you bought into the theology of jw to one degree or another.

  Hi Penguin!

  Why are we so attached to our beliefs and thoughts? Have we defined ourself by them? Is that who we really are? Can we be separated from our thoughts and beliefs? Who would we be without them?

  These questions are so very important, questions we should all ask ourselves. I had to go on a journey of self discovery after the WT, and then God discovery to come to terms with these questions as we all have to do.

  If I was raised in an Arabic country would I be a Muslim or would I be dreaming of freedom in another land? How about China, would I be communist and cling to my culture? Hindu in India and accept the cruelty of the caste system and not try to change it?

  There is a world full of followers, that much we know just by looking at the world. It is scarey! Would I have hid Jews or supported Hitler? Would I have been an abolitionist or would I have accept slavery?

  Personally I have answered these questions and know who I am and what defines me.

  Oh and YES you are gifted. You have a natural insight and I haven't even read all your works yet! The reason I believe this is because of the depth of what I have read. Everyone has gifts, one of yours is seeing things that are beyond the inner vision of the masses, a deep empathy and talented at putting them into words. I have no reason to blow smoke up yer arse...(I'll never get how that means empty flattery)

  I trip over words so baaaaaaaaaaaad. I have a hard time putting my thoughts and feelings into words that truly express them.

  I Thank you all also for the compliments. Poetry has always been very special to me. One of my problems is that I have lost, perhaps deliberatly, most of my writing. I only have a few things but have written poetry for over 30 years. Emily Dickenson and Wilian Wordsworth are my 2 favorite poets.

  Thomas it took me awhile to be able to receive compliments too. I think I was too down on myself since my enire life was spent being Joe Dirt. One day a friend (one of my first non JW strained friendships) complimented me on something and I did what I always do, played it down, made some excuse for myself, you know how we do.

  My friend said "just recieve the compliment.........." I can't remember all she said but it had a big effect on me. We are pretty far from being full of ourselves lol...still brushing off some of that WT dirt.not much! But a little.

  Today was an inspirational day. We took a bike ride up to a place called Indian Cove in Joshua Tree. It is so quiet and peaceful. Made me remember the flood of words that come when I am out in nature listening to no sound except for the occasional rustle of a wild thing. A little blue whip tail lizard came to visit us while we were drinking water. Dave gave it some and he seemed very thankful for the drink.

  Of course Paul as every other NT writer claimed to teach the truth, even though he didn't claim to be the truth as the Johannine Jesus did. Do a quick search for "truth" in the Pauline epistles.

  Paul said He was not lieing but telling the truth; Acts 26:25 But he said, I am not mad, most noble Festus; but speak forth the words of truth and soberness.

  It is readers choice to believe he was lieing or not.

  Romans 9:1 I tell the truth in Christ. I am not lying, my conscience testifying with me in the Holy Spirit,

  Went to Church this Morning

  my wife and grandaughter went to church with me this morning.

  i really would like to believe in god and christ but it all comes from the bible and the first scripture that was referred to was a contridiction.. 1 sam.

  15:29 says,"he will not feel regrets, for he is not an earthling man so as to feel regrets.".

  Is Christ dangerous? Was Paul or Peter dangerous people as possesers of faith?

  I think so, definitely. Perhaps less as possessors of "faith" than as persons claiming (or represented as claiming) truth.

  Paul did not claim or represent truth however Jesus did. If that was dangerous then one would have to conclude Jesus was dangerous because truth does not exist.

  If truth does not exists then you do not exist, in fact none of us do. No truth, no reality, no goodness no evil, no life no death, nothing matters if there is nothing that is truth.

  No truth no faith. Some people put faith in dangerous people or dangerous belief systems. If you can find one thing to accuse Jesus of please let me know.
